Long known as one of the most powerful and efficient martial arts, Aikido is derived from Aiki-jujutsu techniques of ancient Japan. Aikido was popularized by film star Steven Seagal in many of his movies.
Due to it's very effective but non-violent nature, Aikido provides a powerful form of self defence and is taught to police forces throughout Japan. Aikidos goal is to neutralize an aggression and render the attacker harmless, without causing any serious injury. To do this requires skill, but more importantly, it requires an ethical intention. Aikido is a dynamic martial art suitable for the whole family.
